About the project

Prestley Wood Academy (PWA) will be a new special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) school located at the heart of the Alconbury Weald development in Huntingdon. In this first phase, the school will cater for 150 pupils aged between 3 to 19 with dedicated post-16 facilities provided. Part of a future phase of works for which outline planning permission has been granted will include the expansion of this school to provide post-19 and specialist autism facilities.

The school will form part of the Alconbury Weald Education Campus development which in time will see the addition of a new secondary school that will also be delivered and expanded upon over a number of phases.

The design of PWA has been determined through extensive engagement with Cambridgeshire County Council and Horizons Education Trust, to provide a facility which responds both to the Council’s net zero agenda and the Trust’s ambition to go beyond expectations and make a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
